Guruprasad Ayyappan

Born in 1968 and brought up at Kollam, as the youngest son of Smt. K Gowri and late Sri. A.Ayyappan among their four children. I took my Bachelor Fine arts Degree with specialisation in Sculpture from College of Fine arts, Thiruvananthapuram.

I have 33 years experience in creative art with specialisation in sculpture. My career as an artist began in 1984, after matriculation as the disciple of famous sculptor M.C. Sekhar who was the most reputed disciple of Shri. Deviprasad Roy Chowdary.

My ambition is to discover new planes in sculpture and establish myself in the sphere of sculpture through experimental sculptures. More over my works aim at evaluating the relation between social happenings in view of an artistic style. Successfully completed B.F.A Course with Gold Medal in 2001.

State award from Kerala Lalithakala Academy in 2005 for my sculpture named "Woman - Real & Imagination". Honorable Mention Award from Kerala Lalithakala Academy in 2008 for my sculpture named “The post modern Slave”,Honorable Mention Award in 2016 for my sculputure named "Yathra" ,Participated in several National Art Camp, workshope, and Seminars.Got Chief Ministure's Police Medal in 2017. Conducted and participated in several State level Solo and Group Exhibitions.
